Using the System

Intel® RealSense™ PT Metrics uses a Wi-Fi network connection to communicate between the system’s components. The following are steps for setting up the system in a new clinic/new location.

The instructions below assume a basic knowledge in Android tablets, connecting to Wi-Fi network, and following technical instructions.

Requirements

Use a network speed test tool (e.g., www.speedtest.net) to ensure an internet connection of at least 2 MB/sec on both download and upload. If this is not available, the system will not work reliably. Contact your Internet provider to improve your network.

Ensure your Wi-Fi network has an SSID set with WPA/WPA2-Personal configuration.

Before assembling the Intel RealSense PT Metrics system on the cart:

  1. Turn on the tablet and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Start the Intel RealSense PT Metrics mobile app on the tablet.
  3. Connect the Intel RealSense PT Metrics camera to the power (use the 5v charger) and turn it on.
  4. Connect the camera to the tablet, following the instructions on the tablet screen.
  5. Assemble the Intel RealSense PT Metrics cart and mount the Intel RealSense PT Metrics camera and the tablet on it following the instructions provided with the cart.
  6. Plug the 5v charger into the wall socket and the charging port on the box on the cart. Let the battery charge for at least 15 hours.

Using the System

To use the system with patients, turn on the tablet and camera. Your patients can sign in to the tablet and use the system. While in use, the 5v charger can be optionally left plugged in to the system. This will prolong the time that the system can be used before its battery depletes but limits the system’s mobility.
