Editing Treatment Plan Activities
On the right side of the Treatment Plan Window (shown below), the description of each activity is collapsed by default.
-
Some items can be edited without expanding the activity:
-
Body Side -The side of the body that should be active – Left or Right.
-
Facing camera- Shows in symmetric exercises (where both body sides are active, e.g., squats). It enables you to decide which side is facing the camera, so you can see it in the video recording.
-
– Click the icon to remove the activity from the treatment plan. It only deletes it from the plan—not from the list of available activities
-
– Click the icon to add another instance of the activity to the treatment plan. This is useful, for example, when you want to have the patient do the same exercise on both body sides.
-
Click the icon to expand the activity and view/edit its details. The following is displayed –
-
A variety of information is displayed for the activity
-
Body Part- The body part that this activity is addressing. This is a read-only field.
-
Body Side- The side of the body that should be active – Left or Right.
-
Category- Specifies whether this activity is an assessment or an exercise.
-
Comments- A space for the clinician to add additional instructions.
-
Equipment- The types of equipment to be used while performing this activity. A field for setting a value may appear next to the equipment.
-
Example: A weight field, next to Dumbbell equipment
-
Add Equipment- Enables the clinician to add additional equipment that must be used by the patient, which will appear at the top of the list in the Equipment field.
-
Sets- Number of times the activity is to be repeated in one session.
-
Hold (seconds) - Duration in seconds for holding a position during the activity.
-
Reps per Set- The quantity of repetitions for each set of the activity.
-
Repetition Threshold- The amount of movement (e.g., distance traversed; arc of angle) of motion that must be done to be counted as a repetition. Example: Setting the threshold to 45 degrees in a Knee Extension exercise means that the patient must move their leg at least 45 degrees in order for this move to be counted as a repetition.
-
Rest- The rest interval between sets, specified in seconds or minutes.
-
Metric and Goal- Targets and outcomes the activity aims to achieve. Multiple such fields may appear in each plan.
-
Video- Clicking on the video displays it. A description of the exercise appears underneath the video. This text will show in the Patient Application, explaining the exercise.
-
Editing Activities
After assembling the activities, the clinician may want to adjust parameters such as repetition, count, or goals to help ensure the proper treatment plan for the patient's condition.
The following describes how to edit the parameters of activities of a treatment plan.
Note – Activities can only be edited after they have been added to a treatment plan.

Assigning the Treatment Plan to the Patient
If you intend to save a treatment plan as a template, it is highly recommended to do so before selecting Save and Assign. Doing it after assigning the treatment plan to a patient involves manually duplicating the assigned plan which can induce error.
To save the treatment plan as a template -
- To save a treatment plan as a template, click the Save as Template button.
- Once saved, the treatment plan can be used again in the future by you or any other clinician in your clinic, without having to re-build it from discrete activities.
To save the treatment plan and assign it to this patient -
- Click the Save and Assign button.
Patient treatment plan names must be unique. The plan will not be saved if another treatment plan with the same name already exists for this patient. The name does not have to be unique relative to other patients' treatment plan's names.
Template treatment plan names must be unique. A plan will not be saved as a template if another treatment plan template with the same name already exists.
After a treatment plan has been assigned to a patient, the treatment plan becomes part of the patient’s medical record. It cannot be deleted. It can be updated only if the patient has not yet start executing it.
Updating a Treatment Plan
After the Save and Assign button has been clicked, the treatment plan becomes part of the patient’s medical record. It cannot be deleted. It can be updated only if the patient did not yet start executing it.
To update a treatment plan before the patient starts executing it -
-
After you assign a treatment plan to a patient, the following is displayed –
-
If several plans were already assigned to the patient, they are displayed from the newest to the oldest order.
-
Click Update. The treatment plan with all its current settings will be shown in the treatment plan builder.
-
Change the plan as needed, then Save and Assign it. The previous plan will be over-written.
To update a treatment plan after the patient started executing it
-
Click Update. The treatment plan builder automatically creates a new treatment plan in draft mode that is a copy of the current treatment plan. Its Start Date is automatically set to Today.
-
Change the plan as needed, then Save and Assign it. You will be prompted to change the plan’s name.
-
The plan will be saved with the new name and the Patient Application will be updated to use this plan.
The Update option is used frequently by clinicians to make a variation of the current treatment plan with minor adjustments to the activities, reps, sets, and/or goals.
Once a new treatment plan with a Start Date equal to or later than the currently assigned plan is assigned to the patient, it replaces the currently assigned plan, which is deactivated and becomes part of the patient’s treatment plans’ history.
Creating a New Treatment Plan

-
Click Save and Assign.
-
The new treatment plan will appear above the current treatment plan.
In both cases, the plan will be saved with the new name and the Patient Application will be updated to use this plan.
The Update option is used frequently by clinicians to make a variation of the current treatment plan with minor adjustments to the activities, reps, sets, and/or goals.
Once a new treatment plan with a Start Date equal to or later than the currently assigned plan is assigned to the patient, it replaces the currently assigned plan which is deactivated and becomes part of the patient’s treatment plans’ history.
Activity Model status
Intel RealSense PT Metrics provides instructions on how to perform each activity in text and video forms. Additionally, Intel RealSense PT Metrics provides feedback and insights to the patient and clinician based on models developed for this purpose. The model of each activity may be at different levels of readiness. At the simplest readiness level (“Capture”), Intel RealSense PT Metrics neither provides feedback to the patient nor calculates metrics. At the most advanced readiness level (“Assess”), Intel RealSense PT Metrics provides real-time feedback and data analysis insights.
-
Definition- Essential measurements are the measurements that are most relevant to assess the performance of an activity. For example, for Knee Flexion activity, the angle of the knee flexion is essential, while the hip flexion and trunk flexion angles, while measured, are not the essential ones.
The readiness statuses are described below:
-
Capture- The Intel RealSense PT Metrics camera records the video of the patient. The system does not generate any metrics nor give the patient position and repetition feedback. No goals can be set for an activity at this stage.
-
Track- The Intel RealSense PT Metrics camera records a video of the patient. The system provides feedback for correct patient positioning before starting the activity. The system tracks movement repetitions and displays repetition counts. The system may provide non-essential metrics for the activity. Repetition count goal can be set for an activity that is at this stage, as well as goals for the measured metrics.
-
Measure- The same as the capabilities of Track readiness, with the difference that at least the essential measurements are provided. Other measurements may be provided.
-
Assess-The same as the capabilities of Measure readiness, with the difference that all the measurements associated with the activity are measured and reported (essential and non-essential).
